What's New for the 25-26 School Year?

We make updates and improvements to our curriculum and resources throughout the year. As you're getting ready to go back to school, browse the notable changes we've made since this time last year so you can better prepare.

Curriculum

Refreshed Five Units

We’re working through our units to make them more concise and engaging than ever before. In each of the units below, we've updated popular activities, retired select content, and for some, we added a new activity.

Managing Credit

Types of Credit

Behavioral Economics

Investing

Paying for College (Note: This will be updated again this fall to reflect new changes)

New State Curriculum Crosswalks

We now have crosswalks for 22 states’ standards, in addition to the National Standards crosswalk.

Updated Mini-Unit Nearpod Decks

We aligned the format of our mini-unit decks with our high school personal finance decks.

Pear Deck Slides Available on NGPF Website

The Middle School Course and Semester Course are both fully available on Pear Deck, as well as select lessons from the Trimester Course and Full-Year Course.

Website

Revamped the Middle School Course Page

Activities & Resources

3 New Icebreaker Activities

Break the ice, engage students in conversation with each other, and tie in personal finance.

Relaunch of Teacher Tip Videos

Back in 2019, NGPF launched short tutorial videos to help teachers successfully implement NGPF activities in the classroom. Updates to these popular videos are being released along with new ones.

Added 7 Videos with Worksheets to Video Library

NGPF's Video Library has over 30 viewing guides for movies and documentaries, including seven recent additions.

New NGPF Review Materials

Ready-to-go study guides for each Unit Test, plus Jeopardy! and quiz games for Final Review.

With the release of these focused study materials, we decided to retire the existing personal finance Quizlets. Note: this does not apply to the Financial Algebra Quizlets, which will remain available due to the specific math content.

Professional Development

Added a second course with Bridgewater to earn graduate credit for attending FinCamp

We’re again partnering with Bridgewater State University to give educators an opportunity to earn 3 graduate credits for attending an NGPF FinCamp. And we added a second FREE graduate-level course, Financial Literacy Ed 2.0, if you completed Financial Literacy for Educators during Summer 2024.

New On-Demand modules

We updated all of the Beginner Series modules and released two new On-Demand modules —Beginner Series: Implementing NGPF in the Classroom and Fall 2024: 3 Trends in Personal Finance.

Advocacy

29 states now guarantee a standalone Personal Finance course for high school students, with the addition of Texas, Colorado, and Kentucky.
